Finally, finally those little kids have had their phones confiscated or ran out of credit and have stopped voting for Lloyd! I'm so amazed he lasted that long. And forget what Leona says, we do have four strong singers in the semi's now.
I bumped into Jamie Afro yesterday at T4's Stars of 2009, and he's loving his new-found fame. He warmed up the crowd with his audition song Sex On Fire and I've got to admit he was actually really good! Sorry for dissing you before Jamie.
So is there anything he'd do differently if he had his X Factor time again? "Yeah I would change the songs" he said. "Everyone still comes back to my first audition, and that was just me going up as myself, no gimmicks, no production. It was just me doing a song I really felt passionately about. I went up had a good time and didn't over-think it. I would have liked to have just been true to that all the way."
But the big question is, would he have changed mentors? Jamie answered diplomatically...
"I loved Simon and was really happy with him but because I was unlike anybody who had come on the show before it was difficult for us to get it right, from the styling to the songs to everything. We all tried our best to get it right, and it just didn't work, sometimes in life things don't work, but out of it I've got so much, so I'm happy. I'm determined to take what Simon has given me graciously and go with it."
And who's he backing to win? "Olly Murs is my boy, I've got my fingers crossed for him. He's the man!"
And judging by the screams for Olly when Jamie chatted to the crowd on-stage yesterday, I reckon the Essex boy has a very good chance indeed.
