Did everyone watch X Factor at the weekend? I've decided to pledge my allegiance to X Factor rather than Strictly this year as I'm not that impressed with the Strictly line up, (although I did catch Hollyoaks' Calvin shakin his thang - he gets my vote!)
My only problem with X Factor is that I'm still struggling with the new X Factor format. Was it just me or did it feel a bit like we'd seen the bootcamp auditions all before. Switching to a live audience from the off, means by the time you get to bootcamp - you're a bit live auditioned out. The contestants performing in front of a 4,000 strong studio audience - it all felt a bit déjà vu, but maybe that's just me? But that's not to say I didn't still watch engrossed on both evenings. And ladies, wasn't it emotional? If I was an X Factor judge, I'd have wanted to mentor the over 25s. Who'd have thought that this would be the strongest group eh? Normally it's the group no one wants, but this year I bet they all secretly wanted it. Simon Cowell was the lucky mentor to nab em, but he now faces a tricky struggle to whittle down these six to just three. What with Essex boy Olly, Jamie Afro and the two Daniels (Daniel Pearce of One True Voice fame and Danyl Johnson) - all looking like really strong contestants. And then there's Nicole, who thoroughly deserved her place in the last twenty four with her thunderous performance of And I am Telling You. She certainly showed the nervy youngsters a thing or two.
As for Cheryl, she got the young boys, which will be a bit of a challenge for her. I like her fellow Jordy Joseph who's really got the ahhh factor and blonde surfer dude Lloyd Daniels who'll be a big hit with the under 16s, but I'm not sure about Rikki. I just find him a bit, well, wet. Poor old Louis got lumbered with the groups. Maybe they're yet to show us what they've got but at the moment I think they're the weakest category. John and Edward anyone? Well he wanted them so I suppose its only fair he mentors them.
Dannii's got some good young girls in her group too. Love Stacey from Essex and Stacy Mclean looks promising too - did anyone notice she used to be in S Club Juniors?? And Lucie Jones is amazing.
And did you see the clip for next week's show. Dannii's group get to be mentored by her sister Kylie!!!
On the whole I think they picked the right people, but what do you think? Will the creepy Irish twins make it through to the live show? Which group would you want to mentor if you were an X Factor judge? And who do you think will be the other mentors next week? Company already knows who one of them is, but we can't reveal it just yet, you'll just have to wait and see.......
