A kitsch little salon tucked away in the south lanes providing luxury treatments such as: massage, professional make up, facials, manicures/pedicures, eyelashes, waxing and more. They also stock a wide range of exclusive jewellery and beauty products. Although the shop front is small and tucked away, this is not a salon to miss!
Why is it Hot?
Winning the Jinnylash 2008 awards for the South's leading eyelash salon, this really is the best place to get those eye lashes which are tailored to your own preference i.e. thick, natural or long lustrous bambi lashes. They also stock a range of popular innovative eyelash products which are hard to come, by such as RevitaLash and Blinc Mascara.
This salon has built up a quick reputation and has been visited by celebrities such as Dita Von Teese and Kate Moss. This salon is popular with burlesque performers for professional make-up, nails and lashes and they're also introducing vintage hair styling in the near future. Powder beauty was also featured in the December 2008 issue of Vogue's secret address book - a secret we should all share!
Best Treatment?
The Jinnylash treatment was my favourite - the technician and manager, Rachel, worked precisely and patiently on each individual lash. I came away with thick, long and natural lashes that have lasted 3 weeks so far and I'm officially addicted.
Treatment price?
Treatment prices are very reasonable and they offer a 15% discount to student s and NHS workers. They also hold a Glamour Night event every year which offers £5 mini manicures, facials, make up and massages.
Best Part?
The atmosphere is serene and the service from the staff makes you feel truly pampered. Most of the treatments are undertaken upstairs in private treatment rooms, surrounded by luscious smells and soulful and relaxing war time music. The décor and furnishings are contemporary, girly and fitting with the old style of the building - completely removed from the clinical feeling of some salons, this is the homeliest place I‘ve been treated.
