Why is it hot?
This fabulous shop sells an awesome array of one-off vintage fancies and is well placed on the most Bohemian of Bristol's streets, Gloucester Road. Racks of leather, wool and faux-fur jackets, butter-soft leather boots, old-skool sportswear, retro print dresses and leather bags await you. Step upstairs and back in time into what feels like someone's flat in the sixties, but is in fact an additional floor selling furniture and knickknacks that range from record players and funky phones to textiles, clocks and lamps. If you're lucky enough to have a fashion-forward boyfriend there is a surprisingly wide selection of men's attire (baseball jackets, shell suits and tank tops to name a few). However, if you're dating a fashion-backward man who whinges like a child until you leave any shop, bundle him downstairs into the little record shop where he can flick through some tunes while you try on as much as humanly possible.
Bargain or blowout?
You'll pick up a nice little frock at around half the price of the high-street.
Target customer?
Young funky peeps who dance to their own tune, and wouldn't dare to be the same as Peter and Jane next door.
Worst part?
As everything is unique, you sadly can't ask for another size. You have to endure some very sore moments when dresses are too big, cardigans too tight and boots too small. Sometimes on these occasions you wish you were fatter, your chest was flatter and your feet were smaller - but maybe you could just chop a few little toes off in the name of fashion to squeeze into those lovely suede boots you've found.
