Why is it hot?
The aptly titled Hammertime' means that you should expect nothing less than what is inferred. That's right, prepare yourself for 90's revival music ranging from TakeThat and Hanson to the Spice Girls - and of course, MC Hammer.
The music falls nothing short of a ruddy good cheesy time, in which it is perfectly acceptable to know and belt out all of the Spice Girl's lyrics at the top of your lungs. Platform power.
Another little Brucey bonus - the cheap as chips drinks prices. Now these ensure that you have the option to embody the evening and get totally hammered. Bottles range from £2.50 and shots from £1. There are the more sophis wine options, but the hair down attitude left me succumbing to rounds of Jaegermeister and needing paracetomoltime' on Wednesday morning. None the less, it's a perfect night for a proper cheesy dance and a bit of a blow out.
When should you rock up?
Get there early to avoid brutal disappointment, as Barfly has a maximum capacity of 200 and the bouncers begin operating a one in one out' system come 12am.
Best bit?
I'd have to say the one-hit-wonders that grace your ear drums.
Dress code?
Seems effortlessly cool and quite laid back. The styles of Alexa Chung/Peaches Geldof/Agyness Dean spring to mind. Go with what you're comfy in!
