Why is it hot?
A recent (and welcome) addition to the Leeds shopping circuit, Urban Outfitters should have opened up here years ago. A treasure trove of wardrobe staples including jeans, statement t-shirts, flirty dresses plus some more exclusive high fashion ranges which ensure you shouldn't bump into your outfit on someone else. At the back of the store lies a Blue Rinse concession stocking customised dresses, vintage shirts and one off jackets. Go downstairs and you will find the designer ranges (and the menswear department) - here it gets quite pricey, but there are some genuinely beautiful well-made pieces. Worth a peek if you are looking for something special, especially if you are after separates rather than a dress. Failing that, hang on for the sales as the discounts are pretty generous. Urban Outfitters also carries accessories, shoes, undies, bags, soft furnishings and little trinkets (= great stocking fillers) - definitely worth coming here when you need to put an entire outfit together and you want to go down the Alexa Chung route. And joy of joys, it stays open until 7pm Thursday-Saturday if you are having weekend wardrobe woes.
Bargain or Blowout?
Ladies ground floor is fairly reasonably priced, Ladies basement is splurge territory unless there is a sale on.
Must buy?
Nostalgic tees for £28 - cartoons or rock band tour reproductions, take your pick. The Sesame Street ones have potent childhood memory resurgence powers.
