Inspired by the elegant charm of a classic Italian ristorante with a contemporary buzz and a modern, stylish interior, GUSTO brings the true "taste and enjoyment" of Italy to their guests.
A very classy yet original Italian restaurant and bar located on the Albert Dock itself.
On the right you have a huge bar/waiting area which serves a large selection of wines, champagnes, bottled lagers and soft drinks. And to the left is the large restaurant area with the kitchen situated directly in full view of diners.
Upstairs is a smaller seating area which is more romantic and a bit more out of the limelight.
The Atmosphere
The general atmosphere at Gusto is lively. Most seem to be couples or families dining out for an occasion.
The Food
The king prawns in a creamy tomato and garlic sauce are to die for. At around £7 for about 5 prawns, they are definitely worth it. All starters range between £5 and £8.
For the main course prices are in the region of £9 to £30 with the most expensive meal being a whole lobster and the cheapest meal either the pizza or pasta.
The 8oz fillet steak was served exactly how we asked for with a serving of chunky fries and grilled tomato!
Result?
Gusto is a definite must visit restaurant for anybody who likes exceptional service with a smile and very tasty food. It definitely lives up to its star rating.
