Coolest Place to Watch the Olympics in London

When: The Basecamp kicks off on Friday 27 July, until Sunday 12 August , 10am until 10pm every day.

Where: It’s taking off on Leonard Street car park in Shoreditch, E1.

Medals to: Get involved in some silly sports hosted by The Social Athletics Club. Beer pong, Robo pong (ping-pong against a machine), and basketball are just a few of the events that will get you in the Olympic spirit, especially as drinking is highly recommended. And to make sure you don’t miss any of Britain’s victories, there will be screenings of the action running all-day.

Refuel: To refuel you can sip on cider, juice and Pimms from the pop-up bar, and nibble on British dishes supplied by gastronomic gods, Street Kitchen. They’re known for bringing their bistro menu to outdoor events, saving the hungry from greasy burger vans.

Weatherproof: To avoid your mood being dampened by the weather, all the essentials are under the ‘Club House’ (e.g. a massive tent!).

Dress Code: Sportswear worn at Basecamp is mandatory! But this doesn’t have to mean tatty trainers and hair-ruining headbands - go sports luxe with our medal-inspired fashion.

More some... If you’re more of an observer than a player, The Book Club is also hosting an Andrew Macgregor exhibition at the bar between 19 July and 9 September, 6pm- 2am. The designer’s clients have included Miss Selfridge, ASOS, Vogue, Uniqlo, and GQ.

So if you’re pouting because you couldn’t get tickets for the Olympics, head down to the Basecamp, and you’ll soon be sporting a smile. On your marks, get set, go!
