Why is it hot?
This bar oozes sophistication and decadence. The elegant and avant-guard setting inspires you as you are shown to your seats and you can't help but lap up the eccentric surroundings. A mixture of Parisian chic, regency furniture and antique classics are all scattered around the bar in abundance. Oversized champagne flutes and ceramic swans, grandfather clocks, chandeliers and opulent dining table/chair sets are just some of the beautiful items on display.
The staff spoil you, waiting on your table allowing you to sit back and simply enjoy your evening with out a worry in the world. There is even a Members only private room if you fancy a more VIP feel.
There is a wonderful mix of modern elegance and London chic and although there are fashionable and classy guys drinking here despite no beer being served, I would favour gossiping over luscious cocktails and champagne with the girls.
Best drink?
You cannot visit Lounge Lover without enjoying a wonderful cocktail. With hundreds to choose from you are spoilt for choice however the staff are on hand to help you select the perfect cocktail to suit your taste. I opted for a heavenly lychee Eastern Promise and my friends chose the ‘love letter' which was a selection of Elderflower and raspberry vodka, and the ‘Lounge lover' which included sweet vanilla and fig liqueur. The drinks are on the expensive side where you are looking at around £10 for a cocktail however they are exceptionally divine and worth the money if you want to taste the perfect cocktail.
What to wear?
Style is key here. Although there is a diverse clientele you will definitely regret not wearing some sexy heals. Most East London bars now favour the relaxed Hoxton vintage look so the Lounge Lover is perfect if you fancy a change from the retro vibe and an opportunity to get your glad rags on.
Worst part?
Some of the staff feel they are far superior to the bar itself. Ignoring the one or two with illusions of grandeur the remaining staff are an absolute joy. Mim in particular was one waitress who was always happy to help and very friendly.
