Kanteen at K West, London

kanteen at k west london

As much thought has gone into creating Kanteen as K West, the designer hotel it belongs to, this is obvious from the moment you step into the trendy restaurant on a mezzanine floor above the buzzy bar.

Luxurious rich blue and red leather seating is matched with dark wood tables that contrast with pale wood floors. A modern eclectic menu of exciting surprises is on offer, the staff were really friendly and attentive.

The new menu consists of "Saints" and "Sinners".  This concept of having a healthy menu 'Saints' and a more indulgent menu labelled 'sinners' is such a good idea and the fact that you can mix and match from the two menus means that if you are inclined you can have a almost guilt free dinner!!

Our starters consisted of 3 options from each menu we both went for the saintly option of Homemade Hummus served with grilled pita bread (£6), which was gorgeous. For mains I opted for a mischievous main plate from the Sinners menu of Traditional Fish & Chips with steamed peas and tartare sauce which was delicious (£12) while my friend opted for a Virtuous Victuals from the Saints menu of Sauteed Leek & Mushroom Tagliatelle. (£10.50)

For Desert I  indulged in  the sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch crunch ice-cream & toffee sauce-obviously from the sinners (£4.00) and Kim chose the crispy apple tart with honeycomb icecream (£4.50)

We treated ourselves to a bottle of Pinot Grigio (£20) and found the wine menu reasonable with a good choice - white and red wine from £17 and Champagne £39- 159.

We would definitely go back the food was freshly cooked and delicious and the bar downstairs is a great place to go for a cocktail before you eat. Price wise it is very reasonable.

K West Hotel..
