If you thought jumble sales were for welly-clad keenos gathering in a cold village hall at stupid oclock on a Sunday morning to swap tat - think again. Rumble in the Jumble #2, taking place on Saturday 26th January, is a jumble sale with a difference.
Charity organisation The Music Circle are putting on the event in aid of abused women in the Democratic Republic of Congo as part of Oxfams Get Together campaign for International Womens Day on 8th March.
Celeb supporters such as Paloma Faith, Alison Mosshart, Fearne Cotton, Daisy Lowe, Tinie Tempah and Marilyn Manson have all delved into the depths of their wardrobes to donate for this event, and as well as getting to check out all the clobber on offer, there will also be a pop-up retro hair salon, a stylists corner and a fun photobooth to ensure you fit in with the members of the glam glitterati in attendance.
Find stalls manned by the likes of Company favourite Gemma Cairney, designer (and panellist of the first Company Fashion Forum!) Fred Butler, Lauren Laverne and loads more! The Music Circle have also managed to get donations from all over the high street, including fashion faves ASOS, Schuh and Pretty Polly. Theres even a record stall assembled from the personal collections of top DJs and bands.
Rumble In The Jumble #2 is the stylish sequel to Gemma Cairney and Dawn Porters massively successful event last year for Get Together, which raised £7,000 for Oxfam. If you feel like helping them raise even more than that this year, all you have to do is turn up with a bag of your own decent jumble to donate (the push you needed for that New Year clear-out!) and £3 to get in. Did we mention theres a full bar stocked with mulled wine and cider? Sound like your cup of tea (which, coincidentally, there will also be!)? If so come along. Full details below.
Rumble in the Jumble #2. 26th January 12pm 6pm. Bethnal Green Working Mens Club, 42-44 Pollard Row, London E2 6NB.
