What is it?
Spitalfields market is shopper's paradise, packed full of tasty treats, inspiring fashions, kitsch antiques and bargains, bargains, bargains!
Why is it hot?
This fantastic market is a delightful mix of traditional east end market traders but with the added selection of new up and coming designers and stalls. Everything and anything can be found here from old military clobber, beautifully crafted jewellery - new and vintage, vinyl music and my favourite.... the cake stall! Each day has a special theme such as antiques or fashion however on the whole you are still spoilt for choice. You do need to dedicate some time though if you want to really riffle through all the goodies on offer.
Should all the shopping and rummaging around for bargains be thirsty work, the market is surrounded by bars and restaurants.
Bargain or blowout?
Oh bargains galore! Some stalls are ridiculously cheap with Jewellery pieces at £1 -£5 a piece. You can pick up black and white music posters for under £10. The new designers clothes stalls are probably the most expensive stalls varying between £15-£30 per piece. Depending on the stall you can pick up a gem or 2 for very little cost. I found a stunning gold compact mirror with Chinese detail for just £5.
Worst part?
This huge market can get a little chilly so you may want to wrap up warm in the winter.
Target customer
Anyone who loves a bargain or antiques however there is definitely something for everyone here. I particularly love the new designer stands whose dresses I now have from here are the envy of my mates.
Best part?
Always walking away with not only bargain but something original and most often pretty unusual.
