What is it?
Michael Barnes, the salon of the A-listers in London.
Why is it hot?
This compact yet incredibly stylish hair salon is situated bang smack in the middle of theatreland and the director, Mr Michael Barnes himself has styled hair for various magazine shoots during his 34 year career. As if that isn't enough to have you reaching for the phone to book yourself in for a trim, the salon is also famed for having an individual approach to styling hair so if you're feeling stuck in a rut with tour style, this is the place to go.
I went in just for a cut and blow dry, sounds simple but with a mass of thick curls prone to frizzing I've often left a salon resembling Scary Spice in her early days thanks to an over zealous stylist. Thankfully I had nothing to worry about during my visit here. The stylist put me at ease immediately, gave me plenty of advice on how my hair needed to be cut and styled before he got to work. I left with one of the best cuts I've ever had. My curls were evened out and, thanks to the Kerastase intensive conditioning treatment he recommended, all of my frizz had vanished.
