Cielo Resturant in London
This upmarket pint-sized restaurant and bar offers an Italian menu with Sardinian influences. Upstairs the mezzanine bar area is the perfect playpen for the rich and glamorous and the entrance hall houses changing collections of art.
Cielo has a creamy, dreamy look. In the dining area are Philippe Starck chairs, crisp white tablecloths, twinkling candles, mirrors and metal beaded curtains hanging down the back wall all fit together beautifully.
We were greeted by a flurry of tanned, good looking Italian waiters and escorted upstairs to the mezzanine area to try the gorgeous cocktails. Bar manager Andreas Jansson was at the nearby Cuckoo Club previously so insisted we kick off with a couple of his Cielo creations. I had a Cielo Bubble green apple liqueur, elderflower, cloudy apple and Moët & Chandon which was very tasty with a sample of delicious squid, prawns and calamari all cooked to perfection
To start I had grilled beef carpaccio with rocket and parmesan which was delicious , while my fella had a generous plate of scallops with pancetta and avocado sauce. The scallops were large, firm and beautifully cooked and the pancetta was still nicely soft. For mains he had buttery veal milanese on the bone while I had green tagliatelle with an amazing tomato based sauce.
Nearly full my man tucked into lemon parfait while I had my favourite dessert...a cheese board! The service and food at Cielo is beyond gorgeous and is definitely for a romantic night, or cocktails before hitting the fab Luxx club that is under the restaurant which is open till 4am!
