Why is it hot?
The venue can be hard to find, tucked away on the corner of the street I had even passed it several times and never knew it existed. We hit this club at 11, when there was a little queue forming to get in. The drinks come in plastic cups and are cheaper if you buy them before 12. We had double vodka and cokes which were only £2.50 each and were very strong! Big bottles of cider, or pints seemed to be the favoured tipple. The decor as it is a little undone, with black curtains, wooden tables and stools at the side of the dance floor, lots of flashing lights and a smoke machine which adds more murkiness to the already dark underground location. The football gaming table makes it feel more like a student flat.
There are two bouncers on the door checking everybody's ID regardless, take some with you as these two are definitely not pushovers.
What's the music like?
Entry to the Sex with Robots night on a Tuesday was free. We had fun perfecting our crazy dancing skills and such a laugh at inventing new moves to the unusually mixed electro beats. Think ‘big fish-little fish-cardboard box' routine, on the closely packed dance floor.
What to wear?
The clientele really dress for themselves and make big statements. Boys were wearing cardigans, bow ties and skinnier jeans than the girls, this crew looked like they have stepped here straight from Fashion College. The girls wore chipped black nail varnish, sequins, quirky tee's, long hair and lashings of khol-eyeliner- the messier the better.
Worst Part?
The layout of the club is a little unusual as the cloakroom is located at the back of the club. Also the toilets are right next to the bar, here the queue is always never ending with only two cubicles, and therefore leads into the club. However for such a grungy venue there was still loo roll at the end of the night, which is always a plus.
