The Buffalo Bar
A cosy live music venue hosting a variety of club nights in North London...
Why is it hot?
Hidden away by the entrance of Highbury and Islington tube station lies this small and intimate bar which has become a common hang out for London's music lovers.
As soon as you enter the Buffalo Bar you immediately feel the warmth and collectiveness of the crowd. The diversity of the club, ranging from hip students to bone fide rockers, adds a unique touch although everyone is there to embrace the music and enjoy the new sounds of the London music scene.
Velvet couches, deep red walls and shadowy corner tables overlooking the stage and dance floor all contribute to a sensual boudoir atmosphere should you favour a more spectators approach.
What's the music like?
The Buffalo Bar prides itself on its live music, promoting the latest up and coming bands. Indie/rock bands strut their stuff on the intimate stage followed by achingly hip DJ's blasting out the hottest tunes.
If you want a slice of new music, this London venue will not disappoint.
What to wear?
Be prepared for a feast of fashion delights. Only the coolest of outfits are on display here. Think rock chick Pixie Geldof for inspiration...
Regular nights?
In addition to the many alternative live bands, a diverse range of club nights are also enjoyed varying from indie night Crimes against pop, Hillbilly Hop and even a spot of Cuban and Salsa. Latin Caribbean salsa lessons are becoming increasingly popular here.
Drink prices?
Drinks are very reasonably priced. Although no draught beers are sold, there is a fine selection of bottle beers such as Tiger, San Miguel and Peroni all for £3. A speciality of this bar is their delicious homemade Vodka shots. You can choose between choc chip, chilli, strawberry, vanilla and a whole host of other bizarre yet scrumptious flavours.
