Behind the scenes at the Company Fashion Awards
The fashion world partied hard last night (and murdered a few tunes on SingStar) at Companу's glamorous fashion awards.
The guest list included Top Shop, Miss Selfridge, Evans, ASOS, New Look, River Island, Browns, La Senza, Accessorize, Oasis, Faith, Warehouse, Moda in Pelle, Debenhams, M&S, Next, French Connection, George at Asda, Ted Baker, Dorothy Perkins, Boohoo.com and Nivea, many of whom celebrated winning one of 17 Company fashion gongs given out on the night.
The most excited winners were River Island and ASOS who won the most awards and stormed on to the stage to collect their stylish glass trophies. Oasis won the new Company Fashion Team award which recognised the fact that their new collections are better and more fashion forward than ever.
Guests mingled with the Company team including columnist Gizzi Erskine as well as top photographers, models, hair and make-up artists and fashion industry insiders.
Henry Holland arrived at 9pm (even though his car broke down in Park Lane) to get the party started with a fantastic set of dance floor fillers. Rocking his trademark geek chic look in a pair of Clubmaster style glasses and a very soft jumper (we know because we stroked it!) he had a great time dancing behind the DJ booth before coming out to chat to Companу's Editor Vic. She'd asked him to play Cheryl's No 1 again and he happily obliged. We still want to know who his crazy friend was in the long black wig his dance off with River Island's Arieta was legendary! Arieta: last spotted break dancing on her back on the floor.
Over on the SingStar microphones we spotted the La Senza press team and Boohoo.com who hogged the mike all night. But the award for services to karaoke has to go to Companу's own X Factor expert Vic who was the first person to test the sound quality. Simon would have loved it!
As for the dress code, it was cool, cutting edge and glamorous with PRs for the major High Street stores clad in their own labels. Our Best Dressed award of the night goes to the girls from Feathers Boutique who'd customised their outfits especially for the party.
Vic White wore a nude silk shift by Frieda from Matches, Companу's Fashion Director Oonagh Brennan wore a Nanette Lepore lace dress with Topshop heels, Companу's Deputy Fashion Editor Kirsty Hathaway wore a High Street medley of Oasis, Reiss and Topshop and Companу's Publishing Director Meribeth Parker wore a black ruffle shift from Moschino.
Look out for the rest of Company team's party outfits on Company.co.uk next week and the full results of Company's Fashion Awards in the December issue of Company on-sale 14th November.
