What I wore:
JW Anderson brooch
Terry De Havilland shoes
Vintage Daytona sunnies
I flew in from Dublin at 6am having spent last night chasing Mad Men's Jessica Pare around the set of her new movie. Knackered but determined, my LFW began! First stop was Clements Ribiero in the beautiful Goldsmiths Hall
Seen at Clements Ribeiro: Eyes washed with turquoise, jelly shoes, a riot of prints including multi coloured stripes, polka dots, dip dyes and saturated florals and to top it all off bonnets. Oh yeah, Miss Boo Peep ain't got nothing on these.
Next up was Holly Fulton which blew my summer socks off. A real departure for her with less emphasis on her prints. This was her version of the pin up girl with just the right touch of Lolita. The plastic skirt with giant roses and sweatshirts were the highlights for me. Oh and the target earrings in baby blue!
Stopped off to have a look in the Rock Vault as if I wasn't obsessed enough with jewellery, I now want a Hillier bunny, antlers from Yunus & Eliza and gold bangle from Imogen Belfield!
Then it was time for John Rocha and a major move away from his usually monochromatic palette. Bright pinks, canary yellows and the washed-out turquoise. There were, of course, some black and white pieces with a few wedding-worthy-frothy-lovelies thrown into the mix.
The highlight was definitely Moschino 'Cheap and Chic' with a buzzy crowd a live soundtrack from the Aluna George. Giant buttons, pineapples handbags, plastic and diamond chandelier earrings and multi coloured runners. It sounds like it was all in the detail but pretty much every look was a 'beach disco' classic!
What I ate:
An apple a day keeps the fash flu away
Flat bread and guacamole on the terrace at Somerset House
Metcalfe popcorn at Holly Fulton
Pizza at Moschino
Who I saw:
Hilary Alexander in leopard print leggings, Converse and a red cable knit.
Alexa wearing JW Anderson x Topshop jumper.
Laura Bailey at Clements Ribeiro in a kilt
My Favourite Five:
Chatting with Lauren Laverne- me telling her about my ability to light sambuca in my mouth, her telling me about her penchant for vindaloo
FROWing it with Daisy Lowe, Alexa, Kelly Brook and co. at Moschino
Dungarees I've always been a fan (as you can see in my Week In Style!) but there's no mistaking they're back, big style. At Henry Holland, Moschino and more.
Seeing PINK at John Rocha.
Catching up with my new mate Laura Jackson.
I wore a Topshop boutique dress, a Balenciaga jacket, Bertie boots, a bag from folkster.com and a necklace by Joanna Hynes.
First was stop Marios Schwab. It was BUSY but worth the trauma Models had poker straight hair and giant winged under eye liner. The Hawiiaan grass skirt details were a highlight for me, never though I would reference it in a show review! And the honeycomb sweaters are top of my ever-growing wish list.
Next, off to Topshop Unique! Jourdan Dunn opened the show looking suitable stunning in an oversized, sheer panelled dress. It was white as was much of he show but the most exciting thing was the new silhouette A follow on from last seasons show Kate Phelan seems to be all about relaxed fit, sophisticated, grown up and just damn slick. Loving the new direction.
ACNE is always a highlight for me and this was no different. Outside looked like a boring old office block but inside was a world full of handsome men in boiler suits and white Dr Martens serving Cava, yes Cava. Me and Company's editor Vic have decided it's much cooler than champagne anyway, and cheaper!
Who I saw on Day 2:
Poppy Delevingne with a twisted little house on the prairie plait
Olivia Palermo in paisley trousers FROWing it (obviously) at Unique.
Grace Jones looking suitably FIERCE at Philip Treacy
What I ate on Day 2:
A protein bar. That's just how I roll
Seared tuna and green beans at Unique
Onion rings in a grotty pub pre-ACNE
Cashew nuts by the bucketful!
My Favourite Five
Jelly stetsons at ACNE.
Marios Schwab x ASOS party at Crazy Horse
Seeing Cara Delivigne smile all the way round the Unique catwalk
Hanging with Jessie Ware and talking all things Dublin!
Cocktails with Laura Whitmore and Amanda Byram in the Ritz (we spotted Anna Wintour!) before hanging out with One Direction's Niall Horan at the Philip Treacy party! #funnynight
Michael Van der Ham kicked off proceedings in the Topshop show space and true to his usual form, presented a show full of unlikely colour, print and fabric combinations executed like only he can. Dusty pinks, seafood green, powder blue in folded origami styles and matte sequins laid over printed skirts were the standouts. Oh, and the hair band is back!
David Koma was next. With a major celeb following there's a serious shuffle to get in. I was pleasantly surprised by the new grown-up vibe. A palette of black, indigo, burnt orange, and green with strong shapes and architectural references. Honeycomb prints featured too on drop waist dresses, sheer layered tees and shoes.
My knitwear hero is still and will always be Tim Ryan but Mark Fast helps reinforce the idea that knitwear can be sexy, fun and offers a really modern take on evening wear. A disco vibe to the show with music and styling referencing the early seventies. I sat next to Kate Nash and discussed our mutual mate Joanne Hynes.
To finish a great day I headed for the JW Anderson show. This was the hottest ticket in town and with his Topshop collaboration just launched, the pressure was on. As he promised me a few weeks ago when he was here to launch CREATE at Brown Thomas, there were ruffles. Some worked, others definitely didn't. My favourite look was geometric silk printed turtle knew and pleated skirt with a boxy black leather and flash white lapels.
What I wore:
Jeans - Folkster
Stripe top - Warehouse
Shoes - Karen Millen
Jewellery - Anna Lou of London, Daisy Knights.
What I ate:
A sushi box and edemame beans
Swish cupcakes to celebrate a mates birthday
Salty and sweet popcorn from Propercorn
Giant lollies at the JW Anderson x Topshop
My Favourite Five
Drinking iced lattes with Daisy (Lowe) between shows
Getting snapped by American Vogue
Watching Jessie Ware perform at JW Anderson x Topshop party
Going to sleep at a reasonable hour!
