RODARTE

\r\n

The theme of this show was apparently \'The Australian Outback\', and they have created some to-die-for shearling in monochrome and embellished leather on dresses - the whole collection was still just as inspired and arty as usual (her at Company HQ we are massive fans of Rodarte!), this season they\'ve made a collection which should also sell really well. Woolen jumpers and trousers, smart jackets and amazing evening dresses with cave-painting style hand prints were an absolute highlight.

J.CREW

\r\n

J.Crew\'s Jenna Lyons style is so strong, it\'s now reflected in the show, through bold, bright colours and clashing textures. Team Company loved the snake print matching set and the cool suits - but contrasting, layered pieces still made up the bulk of the collection. Statement trousers are also key form the brand - and there were plenty of this in this collection, and the new textures and appliques really made them.

DIESEL BLACK GOLD

\r\n

The focus for this collection was a continuation of the previous one - and that meant lots of amazing outerwear - including leather trenches. There was also slouchy knits, cute shorts, and there was an abundance of textures - pony hair, shiny leopard and wide, sexy belts. As you\'d expect from Diesel, the denim was also fierce - paint splatters and patterns proved that printed jeans are here to stay.

VERA WANG

\r\n

Moving on from her Alice in Wonderland style collection of last season, Wang has moved forward and used new fabrics and styles. For next winter she created amazing nude coats, flared trousers, sleeveless jackets and fur. There were some gorgeous dresses (as seen here), but also some very risque sheer dresses that we\'re not sure we\'ll be sporting next Winter...

OSCAR DE LA RENTA

\r\n

This collection from the old master actually had a real freshness and new feel to it - alot of youth came through in short skirts, pastel colours and graphic prints. However, the quality, craftsmanship and luxurious feel that the designer has firmed up over the years was still totally evident, and the evening wear, while still red carpet worthy, felt young and exciting. We love!

3.1 PHILLIP LIM

\r\n

Continuing from his previous show, there was a bit of a superhero theme this season, and so of course there were capes! Most of the collection was black and white sharp tailoring, very sleek and perfect for the modern woman. We loved the atmosphere created with the smoke machine, with the models emerging in pointy heels. It was a very masculine collection which looked amazing - but we all wanted to see a gorgeous dress...

TORY BURCH

\r\n

The look for this show was, according to Burch herself \"polished and put-together, and sexy but not overtly sexy.\" It was classic chic, but with an undercurrent of good girl going bad - the fabrics were amazing. Embellishment, paillettes and gorgeous colours made the collection pop, but it was all slightly too prim for us...

PRABAL GURUNG

\r\n

This was a collection which graduation form dark, almost gothic, fading through blues and into the light with whites and golds.  These opposite ends played out throughout the whole collection, Slick tailoring and sexy shapes contrasted with girly dresses in vivid prints, but once there were ruffles and shher panels, it became a bit too much. All the collection was beautiful, but the darker side won our vote.

BAND OF OUTSIDERS

\r\n

\"The Good, the Good, and the Good\" was the title of this western-movie-inspired  catwalk show - and it did what it said on the tin! The womenswear was the strength of this show and revealed micro florals, coloured furs, knits, wooly coats nad puffa materials! IThere were also some key dresses -  flowing black halter gowns with real sex appeal. We want!

HERVE LEGER

\r\n

Bandage dresses are the staples of Herve Leger, and  every seaosn they build on this foundation to keep moving their collections forward. There was a definite horsey feel to this season, with leather harnesses and long, straight, ponytails to add to the theme. Figure hugging is their trademark, and this season they added outerwear to that category too, and added interest to many pieces with pattern, print and pleating. We think they\'ll start to attract alot of new customers (not just red capret and Kardashians!) with this new collection.

RACHEL ZOE

\r\n

This was the uber-stylist\'s first catwalk show after several seasons of where she simply presented her work. It was a whopping show with 46 looks - where does a new mother find the time? There was a real Lonodn sixties boho feel, with gorgeous tailored blazers and trouser suits, as well as jacquard and knitted fabrics. There were also high glam sequin dresses in all lengths, and a couple of red carpet numbers, rocked up with a miliatay coat. We die!

THAKOON

\r\n

Amsterdam\'s red light district inspired much of thecollection, with prints consisting of neon lights and bright hues of red and pink making up the colour palette. There pieces themselves were a mixture of classic hourglass shapes and ladylike tops mixed with raw sex appeal of trench coats with nothing underneath. We loved the mongolian jumpers (a real statement piece) and we loved how heart shapes were intertwined with real anatomical hearts were used on silk. Some of the shapes might have been a bit off, but the feel of the show was spot on.

TOMMY HILFIGER

\r\n

Hilfiger named this collection \'Town and Country\', which meant broadening his horizons to the more rural as well as upper class New York. Military coats are definitely back, and the bullio trim was a real accent. Hilfiger took alot of horse influence and re-worked quilted jacket material into a skirt and even trimmed a cable knit jumper with it! Scarf print continued from SS12 and made up three gorgeous 70s style dresses, but the collection just felt a little bit uptight.

ZAC POSEN

\r\n

High glamour was the thread between each of the pieces in Posen\'s collection, and was across red carpet dresses and skirt suits - if a celeb if after an amazing awards dress, they don\'t need to look any further - Dita Von Teese was front row and demonstrated the point! There was a bit of a japanese theme, with jacquards, blues and reds. it was pretty classic, but some of the finale dresses were a lot younger and more accesible in gold and whites. Expect to see this colection on a red carpet near you soon!

DKNY

\r\n

The show was titled \'Poetic Rebellion\', but it wasn\'t a boho look as the name suggests. As usual, Donna Karan used alot of black and created a collection primarily for office wear - but it is gorgeous office wear! Leather skirt suits, side parted sleek hair and briefcases painted a strong female picture, but the colection did soften up into something slightly sexier - animal prints, flared skirts and a leather trim on everything. There were some great coats too - shearling was a contrast with a hot pink coat.

ALEXANDER WANG

\r\n

It was all about the texture and a high gloss finish at Alexander Wang for AW12 as nearly every surface seemed to have a slick sheen! He polished tweeds, hooded jackets, and even wool len jumpers. Leathers was key as  well, all shiny and smooth while suede trousers and and coats came with waxed panels. The clothes themselves were also covered up. And everyone will be pleased to know it\'s practical - coats covered up calf-length skirts and teamed them with knee boots. Wang seems to have grown up, and his luxe, customised fabrics showed that.

CHARLOTTE RONSON

\r\n

This designer with a famous family started a more grown up look last season, and it has continued through into AW12. Ronson has moved away from her grungy look and gone more tailored, with skinny belts, cute colars and all new accessories.  Bags, are new for the designer this season and co-ordinating gloves and hats added a nice touch. Ronson\'s trademark look of floaty dresses and boho fabrics were still there, but updated and refreshed when combined with knits and coats - this is a really wearable collection.

DEREK LAM

\r\n

This show had a bookish theme, (it was titled \"The Library\") and the prints in the first part of this show was inspired by an old book cover Lam had found. However, you wouldn\'t describe the collection as geeky as there were bodysuits, leather, and metallics - and a real 1960s feel, in both the clothes and the beauty looks.  it\'s Winter, so tof course there was coats, but this season Derek Lasm swapped fur for down, and his eveningwear was a mix of luxe grunge and trailing chiffon. Simply gorgeous.

DIANE VON FURSTENBERG

\r\n

This season, DVF is all about seduction, pairing bodycon dresses with loose, oversized coats in a beautiful colour palette. The show contained bold colours clashed together - pink tops with red paptent belts and patterned coats over blocked colours of yellow and purple. Prints were in evidence as usual, but this season given a bit of a surreal spin with jigsaw puzzles, hands and musical notes appearing all over the fabrics. The show ended with someloose, draped dresses in amazing colours - which left everyone wanting more.

HELMUT LANG

\r\n

This is the second season the new Helmut Lang team have showed on the catwalk, and their look was recognisable. Bold and slick, white leather was teamed with black shiny skinny jeans, and black thigh-high boots was the first look and it was a style we all know and love. Leather, fur and draped jersey as well as wonky knits made up the bulk, but there were some details which set it all apart - dyed fur, stamped leather and laser cutting, as well as some amazing new prints; twigs and branches and swirly lava - there is so much we\'re lusing after from this collection!

JASON WU

\r\n

The show opened with a glow of red light editors got their first look at a military green wool and black lace cape and a distonct chinese feel - however this was only the beginning. Pieces from the show fell inot three categories - military China, (shirts and jackets in =khaki and bright red), historical China (embroidery and luxurious prints), and the Hollywood version of China in the 1930s and 1940s.  However, to keep the collection form being to overtly dominant, there was still loads of Wu\'s sports luxe to keep everyone happy.

L.A.M.B

\r\n

Gwen Stefani\'s fashion house is on a roll - L.A.M.B is loved by editor and bloggers alike and this collection saw houndstooth mixed with slogans and a real punky yet girly feel. Monochrme mixed with acid brights in lime and hot pink. The beauty look still took inspiration from Gwen herself, and the whole show retro mixed with modern - very wearable, very desirable and very now.

VICTORIA BECKHAM

\r\n

Looking incredible for having only recently having her fourth baby, Victoria Beckham presented a polished show featuring many dresses in her now-familiar calf length creating a long, lean shape.  Fabrics used included rib jerseys, but canvas and quilting techniques kept the look neat and trim. There was alo a bit of a sporty vibe in the collection, with bold stripes and v-necks styles, and there was also the introduction of shorter styles, worn with flat boots (not very VB!, mixed in with a gorgeous, very expensive-looking khaki coat with snakeskin collar. It was a collection with a bit more of an edge.
