The chic brand Uniqlo have announced another brilliant collaboration - following the store teaming up with Orla Kiely, the high street giants have paired with another one of our fave 1960s fabric designers - Celia Birtwell. The designer is working on a collection in her trademark prints, including dressesm tee and bags, all of which will hit stores on 21 March 2013, with prices starting at an incredible £9.90.
Celia Birtwell worked with her late husband Ossie Clark in the 1960s and dressed fashion icons like Marianne Faithful and Bianca Jagger - with celebs including Kate Moss and Emma Watson wearing their vintage designs today, and if the success of Birtwell's collection for Topshop is anything to go by, Uniqlo stands to do very well from the joint collection.
Celia Birtwell said that the reason she agreed to collaborate with the store was because of their '‘terribly clever, very basic designs and great colors. You can’t misunderstand their clothing, and the atmosphere in Uniqlo shops is very peaceful.'
