Company Hearts the iPad 3!

ipad_3_company

We're addicited to our mobiles - and ever since the first iPad launched, our addiction got bigger.  The new iPad 3 looks identical to the iPad 2, but there is alot more underneath the surface! The screen resolution is out of this world (perfect when zooming in on that maxi dress on Topshop.com), watching videos on YouTube in high definition (actually, a million more pixels than HD, so there!) and of course, reading Company on Apple Newsstand is all an amazing user experience.

And to make that hands-on experience even better, Apple have made the fundamental elements of iPad better — the display, the camera, the wireless connection. All of which makes the new, third-generation iPad capable of so much more than we ever imagined!

If we had one (minor) criticism of the previous iPad, it was the camera. Whether you're snapping catwalk looks form the front row or filming your friends on a night out, the camera quiality is so important (they have to look good on Instagram you know!), which is why we are extremely happy that the iPad 3 has a 5-megapixel iSight camera featuring a backside illumination sensor that captures great-looking pictures whether by sunlight or candlelight. It also has Autofocus, tap to focus and tap to set exposure functions mean every photo you take instantly becomes a frame-worthy gem. And with built-in face detection that automatically balances focus and exposure across up to 10 faces, you could become the new Mario Testino. Maybe.

But obviously there is more to the iPad than just pictures. You can download and read Company magazine, and then click on the pages straight through Company.co.uk, and click to instantly buy our #ReadItAndTweet book recommendations (and start reading them instantly), watch films, surf the web and store all your music (don't forget to download Spotify and sign up to Company's Playlists!)

And of course, there are thousands of apps for iPad that are genuinely made for iPad. That means it’s specifically designed to take advantage of the way iPad works. Need proof? Check out Apple’s beautiful iPhoto app on the new iPad. It’s just one of thousands of apps that let you do things with iPad you never thought possible.

Company's verdict? We have never enjoyed our online browsing experience on the go so much. If you can save your pennies up, then get one. Get one now.
