Following rumoured reports earlier in the year, H&M has confirmed the signing of Blue Jeans singer Lana Del Rey for its autumn/winter 2012 campaign. The retro grunge style star is debuting in the high street store's print and TV ads worldwide from September, marking her first official brand endorsement.
'We were looking for a style icon and singer to model our fall collection and so Lana Del Rey was the perfect choice,' comments H&M Press Officer, Victoria Chappell.
She's been gradually earning her fashion credibility - Mulberry have already named a handbag after her and she's been dressed for the red carpet in some of the world's hottest designers, so it was only a matter of time before she got her first ad campaign - and we think she looks amazing!
Lana appears in H&M’s Autumn campaign as her first modeling job, which is shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The shots don't deviate far from her signature sixties style of thick eyeliner and retro hair, and of course, that pout!
"The mood is very L.A. noir." said Donald Schneider, H&M’s creative director. "It’s inspired by our fall collection."
We're already lusting after that nude angora sweater and chandelier earrings - we can't wait to see more!
