An Elle-Mail distracts the girls from the elimination earlier that day, as it asks youve previously learnt how to walk the walk, but can you talk the talk?
Early next morning, the girls arrive at a luxury apartment to find out what their challenge will be. Whitney is waiting for them with Ludovic Leray, from mobile phone company Alcatel. He explains they will be shooting an advert for Alcatel One Touch and, to represent their brand, the models must embrace a continental style and prove they have that je ne sais quoi.
Whitney goes on to explain that they will each be given a script to learn, but there is one twist... The script will be in French! Though to make the playing field fair, as Madeleine grew up in France, she will be given her script in Italian.
First to step out on set is Kellie, who trips over her words in the first few takes before getting the hang of it. But as more of the contestants take their turn in front of the camera, its clear that others find the time pressure and foreign language hard to handle. Whitney comments of one performance, that was a disaster! However, Maddie is very confident and explains I really dont mind, French, Italian, whatever. Im good with languages!
The French theme of the challenge was just the start of this weeks surprises, as Whitney reveals that for their photoshoot the girls will all be travelling to Paris! As the girls arrive at the Hilton Arc de Triomphe, where they will be staying for their time in Paris, they are treated to a champagne reception and a visit from a surprise guest, BINTM Cycle 6s Joy McLaren. She is joined by Laura Grant, Brand Manager for Impulse Body Spray, who explains that for their photoshoot tomorrow they will each be embodying one of Impulses Romance range of body sprays, with Joy acting as their mentor.
As the sun rises over Paris the next morning, the models go through hair and make-up. Shot today by photographer Lionel Deluy, the girls will be posing with a male model to help them capture the essence of True Love, with Joy on hand to give them advice and encouragement. Some of the girls take to the soft, feminine vibe of the shoot straight away, while others find it more difficult to create chemistry with the male model. One of the girls even has the photographer commenting Shes just wow!
That evening, a birthday Elle-Mail arrives for Anita, revealing she will be treated to a traditional French dinner, but she is only able to take five of the ten girls with her. As the group left behind at the hotel chats about the weeks challenges so far, tensions once again begin to rise between Maddie and the other girls. Emma G explains to her I do get along with you, but sometimes I find it hard to understand where youre coming from, while Jen is frustrated by her attitude, saying At that time, I seriously didnt like Maddie, Im not going to lie."
But Maddie doesnt apologise for her behaviour, making it clear I couldnt care less if somebody does not understand what I say. Were all different, so Im just going to be myself, because I like myself. Im sorry if you dont like me, I like myself.
Conversation at Anitas birthday dinner also turns to Maddies attitude, as Rissikat states Everyone in this competition has something to say about Madeleine. Whatever you say, she is still the star of the show because whatever happens, everyones always talking about her, whether we like her or we dont.
But soon the girls have to say farewell to the sights of Paris and, on their return, one girl will find that her time in the competition must come to an end. This week the panel are joined by Spice Girl, presenter and actress Mel B, who will offer her opinion about which of the girls have rocked this weeks photoshoot and TV advert alongside Elle, Julien, Whitney and Tyson.
Some girls receive high praise from the judges, as their photos are described as drop dead gorgeous and the point where a star is born, but one of the models commercial prompts Tyson to say ok, turn it off!
After the judges deliberate, Elle calls the girls before her to hand out their photos. Picture of the Week goes to Anita, whose joyful, glamourous photo was the judges favourite this week. Finally there is only three girls left standing on the stage, and Roxy is the next to receive her photo and be safe in the competition, but only by the skin of your teeth, as Elle reminds her.
As Emma G and Anne find themselves in the bottom two, Elle explains to each of them why they are standing there:
We have high expectations of both of you. Anne, you have this stand-out look. We created an amazing look for you, but its not translating in photographs. Youre not using it in photographs and were disappointed. And Emma, you are so beautiful, but youre not using it in your photographs, youre just standing there being beautiful. Its not enough.
But as Elle hands Emma the remaining photograph, it is Anne who will be leaving the competition this week. Elle says Youve been such a great sport, I have to give you a hug.
