Cocktail of the Week: The Red Rosa

red_rosa_cocktail
In honour of our fantastic British issue, featuring the lovely Tulisa, which goes on sale tomorrow, 10 September (get your copy NOW!), Cocktail Of The Week is at the Cavendish Hotel, who have created a very British cocktail for Saturday's Art of Being British Street Party - celebrating all things British of course!

The cocktail is called the Red Rosa, named after the hotel's famous owner, and celebrity chef of her time, Rosa Lewis. This delicious cocktail is made with freshly muddled strawberries, grenadine syrup, Cointreau and elderflower cordial. And we love it!

So if you're feeling patriotic, pop down to London's Jermyn Street if you can. And make sure you try the hotel's afternoon tea or their fantastic restaurant, where the head chef has even put together a special menu with fresh British produce as part of Britain Food Fortnight. Yep, this weekend it's all about being British!

And if you can't make it down to London, here's how to make the Red Rosa at home (it tastes even better while reading Company, obvs…) Enjoy!

Recipe

Ingredients:
50 ml Cointreau
6 strawberries
A dash of grenadine syrup
15 ml elderflower cordial (diluted)
Mint leaves

Method:

Muddle strawberries and add a dash of grenadine
Create a bed of crushed ice in a martini glass and add the Cointreau
Add the muddled strawberries with a dash of grenadine to the glass
Top up with elderflower cordial
Garnish with a strawberry and some mint leaves
